Default Virtual Life?

Is it just me or does it seem like young adults spend more time online than doing anything else? My son is 20 years old, and attends the local community college. Between myspace, online gaming and other forms of virtual interaction with others, I get concerned about whether or not the way he socializes is normal or unhealthy? Should I be "resisting" this and force him out of the house more?
